Report: Ndamukong Suh Would Like to Play in New York

Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh is likely in the middle of his final season with the team. With no extension talks currently taking place and a franchise tag figure that would pay Suh a similar annual salary as the top-five highest-paid quarterbacks in the NFL, the defensive tackle will likely hit the open market come next spring.

Now comes this report from Adam Schefter that Suh would like to play in New York for either the Jets or Giants (h/t CBS Sports).

Suh has told people in the past he would love to play in New York,” Schefter said Sunday afternoon. “The idea of it has huge appeal for him, if he were to take his talents to New York, either to the Jets or Giants, Suh knows how much it would mean to his brand and profile.

The larger question here is whether the Jets or Giants would show interest in the enigmatic Pro Bowler. Suh’s performance on the field cannot be denied, but he’s had his fair share of on-field controversy and has acted out in the past off the field.

The Dallas Cowboys and Chicago Bears will reportedly express some interest in Suh when he hits the open market. With a franchise tag figure of $26 million, it’s nearly guaranteed that he test the free-agent waters.
