WATCH: Fox News Host Fails to Bait Russell Wilson into Controversy

Fox News host Neil Cavuto must have thought he was about to interview the countless political talking heads that come through his television show on a weekly basis when Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson agreed to come on and talk.

And boy did he underestimate the extremely intelligent and well spoken quarterback.

Nice try, Neil.

Wilson even got to the point where he was noticeably smirking at some of Cavuto’s comments.

In wanting to know what we are doing wrong as a nation in terms of getting our children to eat healthier, Cavuto “asked” Wilson the following…

Michelle Obama is trying. Many argue that she’s getting to be too much of a food police mommy…Be that as it may, whatever she’s doing isn’t working. And I’m wondering what you are doing that is working. What’s the difference?

At which point, Wilson responded…

Well, the first lady, I have so much respect for her. I was able to meet her and the president, obviously, you know when we went to the Super Bowl, we won the Super Bowl and got to go to the White House…You know, I think at the end of the day, you know the kids, it’s tough to eat healthy. You know, I remember when I was a little kid I was always struggling, trying to eat healthy.

This is just another attempt from a media member to bait someone into controversy in a live interview. It’s also another representation of this new era of  “journalism” spitting on those who held some morals and ethics in the past.

Fortunately, Wilson proved he wasn’t going to stoop down to Cavuto’s level.
