Patriots’ Rob Gronkowski Still Favoring Surgically Repaired Knee

Three weeks ago, New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick said that their star tight end, Rob Gronkowski was cleared to play. However, reports are surfacing that Gronk is still favoring his knee while practicing.

After spending time at the Patriots’ training camp, Greg Bedard of the MMQB commented that Gronkowski was

favoring his right knee and ran with a decent but not terrible limp

This just confirms reports by NFL Media’s Albert Breer that the Patriots need to exercise extreme caution with it comes to their tight end if a Week 1 start is the goal.

It sounds like Gronkowski is a week-by-week watch at this point which will turn into more of a daily watch as September 7th inches closer.

For those who play fantasy football, Gronkowski, who offers high reward/risk results, presents those considering drafting him with just one more headache to ponder come draft day.
