Derek Carr Impressive Against the Seahawks

When Russell Wilson completed all three of his passes in the Seattle Seahawks opening touchdown-scoring drive, many figured it was much of the same. Once the Super Bowl winning quarterback put on his baseball cap, the story of the night in Oakland took the field.

It came in the form of rookie Oakland Raiders signal caller Derek Carr, who started over veteran Matt Schaub (injured) and second-year backup Matt McGloin.

And the results are about as astonishing as anything the preseason could possibly bring.

Carr’s stats prior to exiting the game were as follows…

11-0f-13, 143 yards and three touchdowns.

Needless to say, there are reactions aplenty to this latest development.

Obviously, this game means much more to Carr and the Raiders than the Seahawks. And the results up to this point show it. You don’t see quarterbacks win the starting job during the last preseason game all too often, but it’s readily apparent that Carr has taken this opportunity and isn’t looking back.

You can’t do much better than leading your offense to four touchdowns in four drives against the Legion of Boom, no matter if Pete Carroll and Co. weren’t necessarily playing their starters the whole time.

As it relates to fans in Seattle, I have one thing to say to you.

Calm down, it’s going to be okay.
