Report: Bulls Now Interested in Kevin Love

In an interesting turn of events, the Chicago Bulls are now reportedly making a strong push for Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love. Even after signing fellow big man Pau Gasol, Chicago is attempting to get into the bidding with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors for Love’s services.

According to an ESPN report, this is what a potential Bulls-Timberwolves trade would look like.

Although the full extent of the Bulls’ offer wasn’t immediately known, it is believed Minnesota would seek a package from Chicago featuring forward Taj Gibson and defensive ace Jimmy Butler in addition to other assets.

It makes very little sense that Minnesota would entertain a package that surrounds Gibson and Butler, especially with what Cleveland and Golden State reportedly have to offer at this point. Even if Cleveland fails to include Andrew Wiggins and Golden State continues to balk at offering Klay Thompson, both of those teams have better assets to send to the Timberwolves in a potential Love deal.

In addition to that, where would Love play in Chicago? Gasol is set to start at the four and Joakim Noah is one of the better all-around centers in the NBA. This may very well be a case of the Timberwolves using Chicago in order to drive up the asking price for Love.
