When NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell says that the Oakland Raiders could play at the new home of the San Francisco 49ers, he doesn’t just mean their Week 14 meeting on December 7th.

Goodell is alluding to the idea that the new stadium could also house another Bay Area team in the Oakland Raiders.
He had this to comment at the recent ribbon-cutting ceremony for Levi’s Stadium, as reported by NFL.com.
Well, we have two pro teams in the Bay Area. Obviously, the stadium issue in Oakland’s going to have to be resolved, too We believe a new stadium is appropriate for the Raiders. They have to make that determination whether they’re in a new stadium in Oakland or whether they feel that it’s best to join this stadium. We’re working on that, and that’s one of the decisions they’ll have to make.
The 49ers’ CED Jed York appears to be open to entertain the idea of both teams playing at the new stadium. Originally, the NFL footed the loan to the 49ers for $200 million to help build their new stadium. Now, it might be time for the 49ers to pay back the favor.
One main issue that remains is that Raiders owner, Mark Davis has adamantly reported he doesn’t want the Raiders to be renters of someone else’s building. However, the Raiders could profit with a short-term lease while they work through their problems with the A’s and their O.co Coliseum.
Wow. Is this a rain on the 49ers’ parade? I wonder how the fans will feel about a potential co-op. Isn’t this kind of like moving into a brand new house only to find out your black sheep brother and his seven kids need to move in too?
I do know however, it bugs the heck out of me watching the Raiders host their home opponent playing on that mixture of dirt and turf.
