Not only is Richard Sherman the best defensive back in the NFL (sorry Patrick Peterson), he’s a character both on and off the field. The Seattle Seahawks cornerback has also stayed out of trouble off the field and is about as bright as they come.
So it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that Sherman has inked endorsement deals with BODYARMOR and Campbell’s Chunky Soup, among other companies. He’s also visited the White House, hung out with Michelle Obama and may very well see himself on the cover of Madden NFL 2015.
According to The Seattle Times, Sherman had this to say about his involvement in BODYARMOR and the connection it has with Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant.
Whenever you see one of your idols or someone you really look up to doing something you want to at least see what it is and why they are so interested in it,” Sherman said, calling Bryant “pretty much the epitome of what I want to be as an athlete. So to follow something that he is doing and is involved with is pretty important to me.
Sherman recently signed a four-year, $56 million extension with Seattle and is coming off a Super Bowl. He’s in the height of his career and should be able to reap the benefits for some time. Let’s just hope that he doesn’t fall victim to the latest Madden Curse should he be the cover guy (pun intended).
