Report: Derek Fisher Accepts New York Knicks Head Coaching Job

According to NBA insider Howard Beck, Derek Fisher has accepted the New York Knicks head coaching position. This comes on the heels of earlier reports today that Fisher and the Knicks would ultimately come to some sort of agreement this week.

Fisher, a 17-year NBA veteran, has no coaching experience at any level. He will now be tasked with working directly with Knicks president Phil Jackson. The two had a working relationship with the Los Angeles Lakers for a number of years in the past. It’s likely that Fisher will now implement Jackson’s triangle offense.
