LeBron James to the Sixers? Yes, According to this Theory

The LeBron frenzy is two days old and already a 24/7 story. Forbes contributor Ryan Somers has detailed reasons as to why he believes LeBron James will sign with the Philadelphia 76ers. Somers makes some great points and really paints a picture of long-term success for LeBron.

We should see about two dozen “LeBron scenarios” per day until he finally ends up with a decision. Somers is just the latest in a heap of potential destinations for the two- time NBA Champion.

Outside of boasting a ridiculous $34 million in cap spae, a few of the factors Somers points to are legit.

Young Nucleus: Reigning rookie of the year and 6’6 point guard, Michael Carter-Williams will happily rack up the assists with Lebron’s presence while 6’11 big man (and projected #1 pick prior to his injury over a year ago) Nerlens Noel provides the rock behind the defense.

Somers really gets down to the nitty gritty with this:

Lebron is producing a scripted TV show for Starz. “Survivor’s Remorse” based on two men from the streets who attain fame premiering this fall, but it isn’t based in Lebron’s hometown of Akron, it’s based in Philadelphia – his next town?

Sure, there may be some stretches of the imagination in Somers’ list, but it really does make sense if you think of logical reasons. LeBron doesn’t need the money. LeBron wants to be set up for life with success on and off the court. Some of the points made by Somers makes a case for decades of success for LeBron in a city that desperately needs a hero.
