25-year-old pass rusher Von Miller, drafted in the first round in 2011, now has two years left in his rookie deal with the Denver Broncos. On course to make $3.25 million in 2014 and $9.75 million in 2015, the Broncos exercised their fifth-year option with Miller.
Von Miller's option for 2015 is worth $9.754 million. That makes seven of the top 10 picks from '11 that have had the option picked up.

Under the collective bargaining agreement, NFL teams have this option for first-round picks as a part of the rookie wage scale. May 3 is the deadline for teams to exercise this fifth-year option.
Reported by Fox Sports…
Miller was John Elway’s first draft pick and had 30 sacks his first two seasons, including a club record 18 1/2 in 2012. But his 2013 season began with a six-game drug suspension, included several off-the-field distractions and ended with a torn ACL in December that sidelined him for the Super Bowl. Elway said this offseason that he believes Miller, who turned 25 recently, has matured and needs to put last year behind him.
Let’s hope Miller can stay out of trouble from now on, make his team proud and wear orange the way it’s meant to be worn.
the Broncos have picked up their option on Von Miller so he remains in orange and blue through 2015, perhaps he's finally recuperated

Next task on the Denver Broncos to-do list is to work out long-term deals for the star wide receiver Demaryius Thomas and tight end Julius Thomas, both of whom could become unrestricted free agents after their 2014 season ends.
