Chicago Cubs Auctioning Off Chairs New York Yankees Sat In

Sometimes the most pathetic organizations in professional sports give themselves that label. This has to be the case with the Chicago Cubs, who are now attempting to cash in on the New York Yankees visit to Wrigley Field.

According to Yahoo, the Cubs are auctioning off chairs that Masahiro Tanaka and Derek Jeter sat in during their recent visit to Chicago.

Tanaka’s chair is going to run at least $320. Jeter’s, not as much — yet. The Cubs are trying to pay for a ballpark renovation here, so any fissionable material is fair game.

The advertisement is equally priceless.

For those who think these are recliners or some other comfy chair, think again.

You’d probably be better off buying a folding chair for $5 and using the rest to attend a baseball game…a baseball game that does not include the Cubs.
