This is a travesty. This is also really, really, really sad. There were 800 fans on hand at U.S. Cellular Field this afternoon when the hometown White Sox hosted the Minnesota Twins. That’s about double the max capacity of a Boeing 777. Just think about that for a second, guys and gals.

Sadly this reminds us of the Montreal Expos prior to their move to Washington…

We have been accustomed to the same old franchises lacking ticket sales. Even as contenders, the Tampa Bay Rays and Oakland Athletics come to mind. Heck, Oakland’s crowd for the first of a day-night doubleheader on Wednesday was downright atrocious.

But that’s to be expected. Fans are afraid of getting washed away by sewage at O.co in Oakland. Besides, it was an unscheduled day game during the week. Is the White Sox lack of attendance today indicative of a bigger problem around MLB? Probably not. Though, fans rooting for that team over the loveable losers, should probably be a bit embarrassed right now.
