Remember how I was speaking of Sam Fuld in a God-like manner? Well, he is now DFA’d.
According to Ken Rosenthal “Athletics have designated OF Sam Fuld for assignment.” In addtion, Susan Slusser says:
Fuld DFA is as expected. As I wrote this a.m, with Crisp back, #Athletics didn’t need 5 OFs. And yes, the #Athletics are aware they are likely to lose Fuld on waivers given his defensive ability and several teams with injuries. To repeat #Athletics reason for letting Fuld go, with Coco Crisp back in action and Craig Gentry off DL, they did not feel they needed 5 OFs.
So you can forget all of this…
Fuld leaves the green and gold with a lot of respect from fans and teammates. He will be picked up from a team in a heart beat, or at least he better.
