One of the issues NFL players face when moving teams is they may not be able to keep their beloved jersey number. This is the case with RGIII and DeSean Jackson, both who wear No. 10 jerseys. While Jackson has had his number longer than RGIII, he’s the newcomer to Washington, and therefore he’ll get a new number and not No. 1.

Jackson had expressed interest in wearing his old college number, which was No. 1. According to USA Today,
Unfortunately for Jackson, NFL rules won’t permit him to wear No. 1, his college number at Cal, either. NFL wide receivers must wear numbers between 10 through 19 or 80 through 89. Try again, DeSean.
It looks pretty solid that RGIII will keep No. 10 as he assures fans in his tweet:

There’s always cash and steak dinners, that Jackson, whose Twitter handle is @DeseanJackson10, could bribe RGIII with. Heck it worked for Eric Decker.
He got cash now RT:@NFLonFOX Eric Decker paid teammate Jeff Cumberland $25,000 plus steak dinner for jersey No. 87: http://t.co/uT9jpeG8Lk
