Source: Aldon Smith Arrested At LAX (Updated)

The San Francisco 49ers need to get their house in order. A couple weeks after Chris Culliver was arrested for hit and run and possession of a weapon, star linebacker Aldon Smith has apparently been arrested at Los Angeles International Airport Saturday afternoon for an unknown incident.

Here is the video of the incident, courtesy of TMZ Sports.

If you listen closely, Smith seems to tell one of the cops that he better hold on to his gun. The star linebacker is obviously out of control during this incident. As Schefter point out, he faces up to one year in jail.

I am hearing from an unidentified source from an airport employee that the incident went down like this…

He apparently has lost his ID. That makes air traffic difficult. So because he was getting the third degree from everyone there…He used the an unacceptable 4 letter word.

The four-letter word is reportedly BOMB. It’s not known if Smith actually yelled those words himself. According to the source, he was supposed to be traveling with former 49ers safety Ronnie Lott.

We aren’t sure at this point whether Smith was intoxicated when the incident occurred. He was just in court two days ago on a separate situation. If you remember correctly, Smith was “forced” into alcohol rehabilitation by the 49ers after a DUI during the early part of the 2013 season. He missed five games while away from the team.

San Francisco has been in the news for all the wrong reasons recently. This comes on the heals of the Culliver arrest and Colin Kaepernick investigation in Florida.

Maybe it’s time that the 49ers brass in Santa Clara starts to deal with what is happening with the team off the field. Simply put, they need to be “above reproach,” as head coach Jim Harbaugh indicated last year.

It’s one thing to put a winning product out there on the field. It’s a completely different thing to embarrass the city and region that you are supposed to represent. This latest Aldon Smith situation is a prime example of that.
