LeSean McCoy Says Michael Vick Is ‘Way Better’ Than Geno Smith

Well, that’s a slam and it’s a good thing Geno Smith doesn’t have LeSean McCoy on the same team to further boycott him. McCoy voiced his support to Eagles ex-quarterback, Michael Vick to be the Jets starter.

In talking with the the New York Post, at a charity event, McCoy had this to say.

Vick is going to be the starting quarterback this year, McCoy said at a team-sponsored charity event. He’s way better than Geno Smith. Way better. That’s no contest.

It is interesting how the word “way” can be far more impactful than just saying better. And, this isn’t what Smith wants to hear since he stated last week that he feels confident he’ll remain the starter for the Jets.

To Vick’s advantage, he’s got four years of experience with offensive coordinator Marty Mornhigweg, during his time with the Eagles. However, to Vick’s disadvantage, he’s 33 and plagued with constant injuries.

McCoy further stated to the New York Post even more support of Vick:

He’ll definitely be a leader in the locker room, McCoy said. Who smoothed over a lot of that Riley Cooper incident? Mike Vick — a great player who’s been through some negative moments and is now positive about it. He’s a great [veteran], and he’ll help the team out in that way.

It does appear that Smith is victorious over one battle, however. Smith will remain wearing the No. 7 jersey and Michael Vick, who has worn No. 7 since high school, and isn’t making any Eric Decker type of offers, will suit up in jersey No. 8.

I guess there’s one thing Vick can be thankful for is that the Jets aren’t going to make him wear Mark Sanchez’ cursed No. 6 jersey. And, coincidentally, Sanchez who recently signed with the Eagles, is now McCoy’s problem.
