Johnny Manziel To Sneak In A Visit With Bill Belichick

Johnny Manziel, possible No. 1 draft pick this May, is hanging around in Boston. Could the Patriots be looking for a possible future, pint-sized replacement for Tom Brady? Reports are surfacing that Manziel will visit with the Patriots, for pre-draft prospecting.

Per the Boston Herald,

“Manziel is a potential No. 1 overall draft pick, so the Patriots’ interests is almost certainly a means of advanced scouting. Bill Belichick has often discussed the merits of interviewing draft prospects as a way to formulate a base in their scouting reports, either in terms of preparing for a future opponent or a possible free agent. Manziel has no prior history with Belichick, according to the source, so this furthers that notion.”

The Patriots have the 29th pick in the 2014 draft, so it would be utterly shocking if Manziel was still on the board until pick 29. Some fancy trading up will have to be done on the Patriots end to up with a with a much earlier pick to even get a shot at Manziel.

What are your thoughts? Can Manziel even throw high enough to reach tight end Rob Gronkowski’s vertical wingspan?
