Jerry Jones Lets Tony Romo And Jason Witten Squat In His Box, Publicity Stunt?

Former Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman Marcus Spears wasn’t too keen on the fact that Jerry Jones lent his box out to Tony Romo and Jason Witten for the NCAAB championship game between UConn and Kentucky. Thinking that it sets the wrong precedence, Spears had these words to share.

Per USA Today,

The team aspect has always been first to me. That’s just the bottom line. I don’t know if it sends the right message when your head coach is hanging out with one particular guy…When you have that type of situation in the locker room, possibly it causes problems.

Spears responded to several hundreds of controversial tweets, defending that he’s not bashing his former teammates.

It would sure seem that he’s taking it personally to me. And, why not send Romo to a high-profile game? It’s fabulous publicity, whether positive or negative for the Cowboys. Remember the Tony Romo/Jason Garrett hoopla last month when they attended a Duke game and Duke lost? Jones knows how to bank on these spotlight opportunities.
