Dear Chris, it’s not us, but it’s you. It’s the breakup that we’ve all been anticipating since Johnson won’t budge on his asking price, and the Titans won’t give in. The potential release of Johnson frees up a total of $8 million for the Titans. Recently signed Dexter McCluster and Shonn Greene would be the playmakers in the backfield
No great surprise, but Titans are releasing RB Chris Johnson today, per source close to situation. Johnson will be a free agent.

Johnson really hasn’t shined since his 2009 season where he achieved a career high 2,003 rush yards. Will any teams have a need or desire for Johnson once he becomes a free agent is the question. I’ve heard buzz about the Raiders and Jets so far.
To me it’s like deciding between buying an overpriced, used sports car which performed amazing in it’s early day, versus that interest-free loan you can get on a not as fancy of, but new car. Teams who need a running back in 2014 may choose to shop at the 2014 NFL draft for that cheaper option.
Mixed opinions, of course flood Twitter regarding Johnson:
Again, Chris Johnson isn't as horrible a RB as many say. He was just badly overpaid.

I can't believe the Titans are releasing Chris Johnson. He was planning to run for 7,000 yards this year!

Chris Johnson to Dallas? I'd rather draft some fresh blood. #CowboysNation

Where Johnson will play, if anywhere will remain to be seen. Where do you think Johnson fits in?
