2014 ncaa champion - uconn

They ain’t husky – they’re just big-boned. The 2014 NCAA Champions in college basketball are the University of Connecticut Huskies beating the University of Kentucky Wildcats 60 – 54.

Kevin Ollie, who took over the program from Jim Calhoun right before the 2012-13 season, became the first coach to win a national title in his first NCAA Tournament since Steve Fisher in 1989.

Steve Fisher was of course at Michigan in 1989 with a team that featured Glen Rice and one of my personal favorites – Rumeal Robinson. Where you at, Rumeal? Oops, he’s in prison.
