Verlander Looks Comfortable In Spring Debut, Which Should Scare People

And by people I mean anyone who has to face him this season.

We were all surprised to hear that he may not pitch in his first couple starts due to a surgery on his core. Before anyone could say “Kate Upton,” the 31 year-old was already tossing post-op.

The Cy Young winner was back on the bump Tuesday for the Detroit Tigers when he faced the Toronto Blue Jays.

So how did he do?

Well in the first inning along, he threw 11 pitches. Each one of those were strikes. He gave up one single, no walks, but no strikeouts either.

His line was: 3.2 IP 1H, OR, OER, 2BB, 2SO.

Last season, Verlander pitched in 34 games. He finished with a 13-12 record with 217 strikeouts and a 3.46 ERA. Like previously stated, hitters beware.
