The Eagles’ release of DeSean Jackson last Friday is one of the NFL’s hottest and controversial topics and subject of social media sites everywhere. Upon his abrupt release, Jackson denies allegations that he has ties to any gangs or gang members. One of social media’s very outspoken NFL players, Richard Sherman shared this tweet regarding Jackson.

We all know when Richard Sherman speaks on Twitter, he means business. Apparently he is not shy about defending Jackson, his long time childhood Little League companion. And, what a baseball team that must have been with such amazing athletes in the making.
Here are some reactions to the Sherman tweet and as you can see they range from huge support to the complete opposite end of the opinion.
@RSherman_25 What happens in the second decade of life to boys without fathers in their lives has nothing to do with little league DJAX

Oh no. Richard Sherman and DeSean Jackson played for a little league team called Marlins. I played for the Marlins. Do I have gang ties?

Several NFL teams have interest in Jackson, including the Washington Redskins for which he is meeting with today. Ironically, it would be interesting to see Jackson end up on a team who plays opposite the Seattle Seahawks this year. Sherman covering Jackson equates to an intriguing matchup.
