In an utterly ridiculous move because of a disastrous salary cap situation, the Dallas Cowboys are going to release seven-time Pro Bowler DeMarcus Ware. He was set to count over $16 million against the cap in 2014. With the Cowboys up against said cap, they likely didn’t have any other option.
From me and Ed Werder: Cowboys are expected to release DeMarcus Ware, according to two sources.

That’s the larger issue at hand here. Due to bumblings in the free-agent market in the past, Dallas had to make the decision to release one of the best defensive players in the history of the franchise. This is what happens when you are inept from a player personnel department and continue to push back salary cap issues to the future.
Ware will get a ton of play as a 3-4 outside linebacker in the open market. My early guess is that he catches on with either the Green Bay Packers or San Diego Chargers.
