Oakland agreed to a five-year, $30 million contract with former New York Jets offensive tackle Austin Howard late Monday evening. Howard started all 16 games for the Jets at right tackle in each of the last two seasons. He was originally signed by the Eagles as an undrafted CFL free agent back in 2010.

Oakland has now spent a total of nearly $80 million on two slightly above-average offensive linemen after letting previous starting left tackle Jared Veldheer walk on a five-year, $35 million deal with the Arizona Cardinals on Monday.
I guess it’s good that they have a ton of cash. Let’s just see if Reggie McKenzie spends it wisely moving forward because if these two deals are any indication Raider Nation can’t be too confident that he will.
