Amendola was a costly, and basically useless addition to the Patriots last year. In looking to replace Wes Welker, Amendola failed, but Julian Edelman was there to pick up the slack. Edelman is a free agent whom the Patriots likely want to keep around. That may mean saying bye-bye to Amendola in 2014.
