Your First MLB Crush Is Making His Comeback Known

I won’t reveal the names of the women (and men) who have told me Grady Sizemore was once their #mcm. But I will tell you those names have something more than just looks to go off of now.

In 2008, Grady Sizemore was a household name. The Cleveland Indian was hitting with a .277 batting average and 33 home runs. Let’s not forget in that same season he was an All-Star, 10th in MVP voting, a Gold Glove, and a Silver Slugger Award. Needless to say, 2008 did not suck for Sizemore.

Then he was gone. The center fielder seemed to have disappeared. He was known for being the guy who was always on the field. Playing 382 straight games in the Bigs. So for him to be a ghost seemed strange.

Let’s forget about that. The 31 year-old is making his presence known in Spring Training for the Boston Red Sox. Thus far, he’s hitting with a .381 batting average, eight hits, and a .409 OBP. This all happened in seven games.

Don’t worry, I’ll make sure to mention he has some big shoes to fill. Jacoby Ellsbury is now wearing pinstripes. Fans I’m sure are still bandaging up the emotional wounds only a Red Sox and Yankees flip flop could ensue, but at the end of the day, Sizemore is just happy that the Red Sox organization doesn’t regret their decision.

“They were willing to take a chance,” Sizemore said.
