Darren McFadden: Risky Business

The Oakland Raider was snagged quickly in the 2008 NFL draft. Nobody was surprised by that. The running back in now a free agent, and there is obvious interest in the 26 year-old, but is the risk worth it?

I say risk because even with the phenomenal athletic ability he possesses, he has a history of injuries.

Over the last three season, McFadden missed 19 games. In 2013 he finished the season with only 114 rushing yards, five touchdowns, and 108 receiving yards. You compare that to the 2010 season when he lead to 336 carries for 1,1771 yards and 11 touchdowns, it’s a wide gap.

Darren will not be wearing silver and black next year, that is certain. Perhaps orange and black with the Bengals? Offensive coordinator Hue Jackson is one of McFadden’s biggest fans. Don’t be surprised if he takes that route. The Bengals could easily make him an attractive offer.
