G2 Esports reach BLAST Spring Group C grand final

G2 Esports swept Natus Vincere on Monday to reach the grand final of Group C at the BLAST Premier Spring Groups event in Copenhagen, Denmark.

G2 topped Na’Vi 16-10 on Nuke and 22-18 on Inferno in overtime in the upper bracket final to advance to Thursday’s grand final. Nikola “Niko” Kovac of Bosnia and Herzegovina led G2 with 62 kills and a plus-22 kills-to-deaths differential.

Na’Vi is still alive and will play Ninjas in Pyjamas in the lower bracket final on Wednesday. NiP defeated BIG 2-0 earlier in the lower bracket semifinal to advance. NiP won 16-14 on Mirage and 16-11 on Inferno for the win. Fredrik “REZ” Sterner led NiP with 43 kills and a plus-14 K-D differential.

A prize pool of $177,498 will be distributed to the 12 participants in the Spring event, with $27,500 going to the top three finishers along with qualification for the Spring Final later this season.

Action continues Tuesday with lower bracket finals in Groups A and B. EG plays Heroic in Group A while OG battles Liquid in Group B.
