Houston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve is having the game of his life in Game 1 of the ALDS. Having already launched two homers against Boston Red Sox ace Chris Sale, the possible AL MVP stepped up to the plate and blasted his third.

Altuve became the ninth player to ever hit three home runs in a playoff game. The last was Pablo Sandoval, who hit three in Game 1 of the 2012 World Series. Interestingly enough, Sandoval hit two of his three against Altuve’s teammate, Game 1 starter Justin Verlander.
It also gave the Astros an 8-2 lead in what’s been an absolute rout of the Red Sox.
