Robert Griffin III pleads with Vikings to bench Sam Bradford

Robert Griffin III

During Monday’s game between the Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bears, Robert Griffin III took to Twitter to suggest that “for his own safety,” injured Vikings quarterback Sam Bradford should be benched.

It is apparent that Bradford’s twice surgically repaired knee is not right. If anyone can speak to the dangers of playing on a hobbled knee, it’s Griffin, who may well have ended his career doing so.

Certainly, nothing that Bradford has done on Monday would suggest that he belongs in the game. And right before the half, the Vikings listened to reason and replaced him with Case Keenum.
