If you watched Tennessee take on Georgia Tech Monday night in Atlanta, then you probably noticed some guy walking around Tennessee’s sideline with a trash can raised up over his head.

As ESPN’s sideline reporter explained during the game, this is specifically for the Vols’ defense. If a player creates a turnover, then he slams the ball into the trash can.
Let’s just say, it probably wasn’t the brightest idea for a prop we’ve seen lately.

Twitter seems to agree. Especially early as the Volunteers were getting ground into dust by Georgia Tech’s triple-option offense.

What is with the Tennessee coach carrying around that trash can? Pretty reminiscent of their offense and defense tonight.

This trash can thing is hilarious. Butch is always coming up with new and better ways to embarrass my Tennessee friends.

It’s also worth pointing out that Tennessee’s players might want to work on their technique if this keeps being a thing the rest of the season.
