Sam Bradford will not play in Week 3

Sam Bradford

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Bradford will miss his second straight game dealing with a knee injury. ESPN’s Dan Graziano first reported this as a possibility, and then shortly afterwards Mike Zimmer confirmed it.

Bradford, who suffered a bone bruise in his knee, practiced with the Vikings this week but was not on the field Friday during the team’s final practice leading up to Sunday’s game. According to Graziano, his knee did not respond well, and he added that the “next steps beyond this week are unclear.”

This means Case Keenum will be the man behind center when the Vikings host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Minnesota’s offense suffered greatly last weekend with Keenum at the helm. The team scored just nine points against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Keenum passed for just 167 yards, completing 54.1 percent of his attempts.

Needless to say, fantasy owners might want to look elsewhere for wide receiver production.
