Report: Bears RB Jordan Howard playing with sprained AC joint

Jordan Howard

Chicago Bears running back Jordan Howard is reportedly dealing with a shoulder injury heading into Week 3, according to a report.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports the talented back has a sprained AC joint.

After going for 52 yards and a touchdown in the Bears’ Week 1 game against the Atlanta Falcons, Howard was almost invisible last weekend against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He tallied just seven yards on nine rushing attempts as the Bucs swarmed Chicago’s offense in the 29-7 win.

If Howard continues to struggle with his productivity as he deals with this shoulder injury going forward, then rookie Tarik Cohen’s role might expand. He’s caught 16 passes already and has averaged 6.6 yards per run, totaling 181 yards in the first two games of the season.

Chicago hosts Pittsburgh Sunday.
