Panthers WR Kelvin Benjamin leaves game with leg injury

Kelvin Benjamin

The Carolina Panthers didn’t start out their game against the New Orleans Saints too swimmingly. They yielded a 75-yard touchdown drive on the Saints’ first possession of the game.

Then, later in the first quarter, star wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin had to exit with what looked to be a serious leg injury. Here, you will see Benjamin’s leg bent back awkwardly.

Benjamin would get up from the turf on his own power, but the limp was noticeable. He was immediately helped off to the locker room.

Remember, he missed the entire 2015 season with a torn ACL. This also comes on the heels of Carolina losing Pro Bowl tight end Greg Olsen to injured reserve after he suffered a broken foot in Week 2.

We will provide further updates on Benjamin’s status once they become available.
