Mike Tomlin claims Le’Veon Bell is in ‘great physical condition’

Even after missing all of training camp and the preseason due to an extended holdout, all signs are pointing to Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell playing a huge role in Week 1.

Bell indicated earlier in the week that he’s preparing to see the ball a whole heck of a lot Sunday against the Cleveland Browns. It’s a team he put up 200-plus total yards against in one game last season. Cleveland also ranked 31st against the run in 2016. Needless to say, Bell seems primed for a huge game.

Now, according to head coach Mike Tomlin, Bell himself reported to the Steelers’ facility in “great physical condition.”

That has to be music to the ears of the Steelers. It’s also likely a bad sign for fellow AFC North teams.

Last season saw the dynamic running back put up 1,884 total yards in just 12 games. He also averaged nearly 30 touches per outing. Based on what we’re hearing from Pittsburgh, there’s no reason to believe the 2017 season won’t be a repeat of what we saw from Bell last year.
