John Fox wishes Bears ‘could play two QBs at once’

John Fox

The Chicago Bears are not surprisingly 0-2 with signal caller Mike Glennon leading the offense in 2017. In the team’s Week 2 loss (29-7) against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Glennon’s 301 passing yards and one touchdown were clouded by three turnovers, including a terrible pick six, against his former team.

Surely, fans and inquiring minds are wondering what it will take for rookie Mitch Trubisky to have a crack at starting. Discussing the quarterback position Monday, head coach John Fox made it clear Glennon is still his starter. Then he came up with this mind-boggling comment.

The last time we saw a team attempt to play tag-team quarterbacks was when the New York Jets dabbled with Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow in 2012.

Right now, the Bears are committed to Glennon under center. But the team needs to do everything it can to try and win. Trubisky performed better in the preseason than Glennon did, which is why so many are now calling for him to play.

Glennon thus far has thrown two touchdowns compared to two picks. It is possibly that Trubisky could get the start if the Bears keep posting losses.

Week 3 will test Glennon’s skills when the Bears host the Pittsburgh Steelers.
