Jaguars’ home opener up in air due to Hurricane Irma

Jacksonville Jaguars 2016 Schedule

The Jacksonville Jaguars had to stay in Houston following their stunning win over the Texans due to Hurricane Irma, which has badly affected their home city. While Jacksonville did not get directly hit by the eye wall of Hurricane Irma, the storm surge that accompanied the massive storm ha caused flooding on a massive scale.

As such, the Jaguars’ home opener in Week 2 could be up in jeopardy.

More than five million people in Florida are without power in the wake of Hurricane Irma. The rescue and relief efforts currently underway will no doubt last for weeks.

The NFL shouldn’t hesitate to reschedule or relocate Jacksonville’s Week 2 game against the Tennessee Titans.

We already know that the Miami vs. Florida State college football game scheduled for Week 3 has been postponed until October. The Miami Dolphins and Tampa Bay Buccaneers had their Week 1 contest postponed, and we could see the same thing happen in this case.

Both the Jaguars and Titans have a bye in Week 8, which could cause the league to move the date, rather than the location.
