Eric Berry before surgery: ‘Coming back better than ever’

Eric Berry

Eric Berry went under the knife on Tuesday to repair his ruptured Achilles tendon, an injury that will keep him out of the entire 2017 NFL season.

Before his surgery, Berry sent out a message, via his agent, letting everyone in Chiefs Kingdom know he’ll be “coming back better than ever.”

At this point, you’d have to be crazy to doubt Berry. In fact, he’s more likely to make an epic comeback in 2018 and win his second NFL Comeback Player of the Year award than he is to see his career finish on a sour note. Let’s never forget that this is a man who overcame Hodgkin’s lymphoma and won that award following his triumphant return in the 2015 NFL season.

The Kansas City Chiefs will certainly miss their emotional leader and team captain on the field this year. Berry is one of the best safeties in the NFL and recently got paid like it. He’ll be around in future years to prove once again he’s worth it.
