Colts splitting first-team reps between Brissett, Tolzien

The Indianapolis Colts are stuck between a rock and a hard place at quarterback. At this time, both Scott Tolzien and Jacoby Brissett are splitting reps with the first-team offense in practice.

Head coach Chuck Pagano said on Monday that he had no idea who would start in Week 2. It is a bad situation for all involved. But the fact that Brissett is practicing with the first team, signifies the Colts might just put Tolzien on ice this week.

Tolzien was atrocious in his Week 1 debut against the Los Angeles Rams. He completed just 9-of-18 passing attempts for 128 yards, two interceptions and one fumble. The Rams sacked him four times along the way. And both interceptions were returned for Rams scores.

Brissett stepped in late in the game, completing two passes for 51 yards.

Until quarterback Andrew Luck returns healthy, the Colts are likely to continue taking beatings on a weekly basis. Whoever starts at quarterback will host the Arizona Cardinals in Week 2. Good luck there, guys.
