WATCH: Ryan Mallett intercepted by Xavien Howard

Ryan Mallett Baltimore Ravens Training camp

Ryan Mallet is not a good NFL quarterback. But you really didn’t need us to tell you that, right? If you needed any further proof that the Baltimore Ravens have a horrible backup to the injured Joe Flacco, here’s yet another piece of evidence to convince you.

Can Mallett heave the ball a long way?

Heck yeah.

Can Mallett hit his man while heaving the ball a long way.

Nope. Not very often.

This is a guy who’s been routinely getting plundered by his own teammates during practices this summer as Baltimore’s de facto starter in lieu of Flacco, who’s injured. For his career, Mallett has thrown seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions in 19 games.

Did we mention he’s not good?

Ravens fans must be dreading this season, especially if Flacco isn’t ready for Week 1 as head coach John Harbaugh has promised.

If only there were a competent backup quarterback still looking for work in the NFL. Oh well.
