WATCH: Jason Pierre-Paul intercepts Brock Osweiler

Cleveland Browns QB Brock Osweiler wants to be the team's starter in 2017.

Well, we knew it was only a matter of time. Less than an hour after a report that Brock Osweiler had the support of the Cleveland Browns veterans, the quarterback was intercepted against the New York Giants.

After the Browns had driven the ball down near the red zone, Osweiler was intercepted by Jason Pierre-Paul. The ball was tipped by Olivier Vernon, but that’s no excuse. For a guy who’s legitimately 6-foot-7, one of Osweiler’s biggest flaws is that, somehow, he constantly gets his passes tipped at the line of scrimmage.

Here’s the play.

This isn’t a case of Osweiler throwing into coverage, but it does unmask one of his greatest flaws.

It’s going to be fascinating to see the rest of this preseason play out. Like Chicago, Cleveland doesn’t want to have to start its rookie. But Osweiler hasn’t done much to justify earning the starting job, either.
