Report: Michael Vick to join “Fox NFL Sunday” as analyst

Fox Sports has hired former NFL quarterback Michael Vick as a studio analyst. Vick worked as a coaching intern for the Kansas City Chiefs this summer, but apparently sees a future in broadcasting instead.

“Fox Sports will formally announce on Sunday that Vick, a four-time Pro Bowl quarterback, will serve as a studio analyst for FOX NFL Kickoff, the show that leads into Fox NFL Sunday. Vick will also make regular appearances on FS1 studio shows as part of his new job,” according to USA Today.

Vick’s opinions have made headlines in the months after his retirement, so he should fit right into FS1’s culture. Whether he has anything to offer as an analyst, however, is a different story.

It’s always hard to know exactly who will and won’t be good on television. Few thought ESPN’s Louis Riddick would be a star, but he’s one of the smartest people on the network. Vick is certainly an expert, but whether that will translate to TV is a different story. Hopefully, he’s able to do the job well.
