Mountain West will stream six football games on Facebook this season

The Mountain West Conference announced on Wednesday that six of its football games for the upcoming season will air on Facebook.

“The six-game package features four nonconference contests, including in-state rivalry New Mexico State at New Mexico on Saturday, Sept. 9 and two Conference showdowns,” the release said. “Wyoming and Josh Allen, who is one of the top quarterbacks in the country, will be featured twice on Facebook. The two-time Mountain West defending champion San Diego State Aztecs open the Facebook MW package against UC Davis on Saturday, Sept. 2 at 5:30 p.m. PT.”

In addition to the September 2 game between San Diego State and UC Davis, Facebook will also stream Idaho State at Utah State on Thursday, September 7 (6 p.m. MT), New Mexico State at New Mexico on Saturday, September 9 (6 p.m. MT), Utah State at San Jose State on Saturday, September 23 (4:30 p.m. PT), Texas State at Wyoming on Saturday, September 30 (2 p.m. MT), and Wyoming at Utah State on Saturday, October 14 (2:30 p.m. MT).

Recently, ESPN announced that it will stream MLB and NHL games in 2018. We should only expect streaming to get more popular in the coming months and years, as cord cutting is prevalent with this generation of viewers.
