Marqise Lee carted off field after right leg injury

Marqise Lee

Jacksonville Jaguars receiver Marqise Lee suffered an injury to his right leg Sunday during practice and had to be carted off the field.

According to Michael DiRocco of ESPN, the injury occurred during the team’s first practice at their new indoor facility, which features artificial turf.

A second-round pick out of USC in 2014, Lee has been a consistent, albeit secondary, receiver for the Jags. Last year he came on strong, catching 63 passes for 851 yards and three touchdowns. So if he’s going to be out for any considerable amount of time he’ll certainly be missed.

Though, based on some early reports, the injury wasn’t as bad as initially feared.

In his first three seasons in the NFL, Lee has tallied 115 catches for 1,464 yards and five touchdowns. In addition to his skills as a receiver, Lee emerged as a solid kickoff return man last year, going for 30.3 yards on average with one touchdown.
