Jets head coach Todd Bowles puts team on absolute blast

It’s already becoming a long season for New York Jets head coach Todd Bowles and it is not even September yet. This time, a fight sparked Bowles’ frustration.

“They need to take onus on themselves,” Bowles said, per Rich Cimini of ESPN. “If they’ve got energy to scuffle, they’ve got energy to run. If you’ve got energy to scuffle and run, you should have energy to practice.”

According to the report, a brawl broke out between offensive tackle Kelvin Beachum and linebacker Lorenzo Mauldin. The entire team was punished by having to run gassers as a result.

It didn’t stop at the fight. After an overall poor practice session, Bowles called the team “sluggish” and “sloppy,” per the report.

This news follows last week’s woes when Bowles was asked to comment on the Muhammed Wilkerson/Brandon Marshall ongoing feud. Bowles refused to discuss old news and Wilkerson has since been dealt with.

The Jets, from the quarterback position on down, are entire mess. This was evidenced by an uneventful 7-3 win against the Tennessee Titans in the team’s first preseason game.

Bowles definitely has his work cut out. Fights on the field certainly aren’t helping his blood pressure levels.  The Jets travel to take on the Detroit Lions for their second preseason game this Saturday. Hopefully, all Bowles’ players will be in one piece.
