Chuck Pagano seems to indicate Andrew Luck is still a long ways from returning

Andrew Luck

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck has been unable to practice all offseason and into training camp. But while Chuck Pagano has loved having him on the sideline at practice the past couple of days, the coach acknowledged that it doesn’t mean he’s any closer to returning to the field.

That’s certainly not good news for anyone hoping Luck will to return to action any time soon.

If anything, these comments only give credence to the idea that Luck may start the season on the PUP list, which would keep him out for at least six weeks of the regular season. Really, the same can be said for any comments that don’t note his significant progress.

If Luck was getting closer to returning, we’d hear something more upbeat that from Pagano. He may not give an exact timetable, but he’d certainly mention any progress that Luck has made, if he’s been making it.

It’s certainly not bad that Luck is back on the sidelines. But we’re still a long way from any truly great news in regards to his actual progress.
