Chris Christie: ‘I didn’t dump the nachos’ on heckler, ‘which was an option’

Chris Christie

At an event in Trenton, New Jersey, Governor Chris Christie addressed a recent event where he was caught on camera getting in the face of a heckler during a Chicago Cubs vs. Milwaukee Brewers game in Milwaukee.

Per the Associated Press (via the Chicago Tribune), Christie made it clear that he didn’t go as far as he could have gone with the heckler.

I didn’t dump the nachos on him or anything, which was an option.”

Well, then. Good job. It certainly would have been a shame to see so many nachos go to waste. And as we all know, at baseball stadiums, nachos are a pricey venture.

Christie also clarified why he was so upset after being heckled, something that’s not uncommon for politicians. He made it clear that one comment is fine but at the second, there’s a problem.

“I will take a certain amount of abuse. You’re a public official you have to,” he said. “But usually it’s one. You get one shot to call me a name or curse me out.”

For his part, the heckler has suggested that he and Christie settle their dispute in the ring. Of course, that fight will never happen. Still, it wouldn’t be any less entertaining than other bouts that people are being asked to pay good money to see.
