Chargers looking to trade 2016 breakout star Dontrelle Inman

Chargers are looking to trade Dontrelle Inman

Even with rookie first-round pick Mike Williams still sidelined to a back injury, the Los Angeles Chargers seem to think they’re in a good spot at that position.

According to NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero, the Chargers have had talks with other teams about trading last year’s starting wide receiver Dontrelle Inman.

This has to be considered a pretty big surprise. Inman, 28, broke out big time for Philip Rivers and the Chargers last season. The former Virginia star recorded 58 receptions for 810 yards and four touchdowns. He also averaged a robust 14.0 yards per reception.

Considering Keenan Allen was lost for all but one game, Inman’s performance was absolutely huge for the Chargers last season.

But with Allen back in the mix and both Travis Benjamin and Tyrell Williams continuing to prove themselves, it looks like the Chargers view Inman as expendable. It will definitely be interesting to see what comes of this.
