The Boston Celtics may have taken the next step to competing with the Cleveland Cavaliers back east next season. ESPN’s Chris Haynes reported on Tuesday afternoon that Boston will sign All-Star forward Gordon Hayward.
While there are conflicting reports about whether the deal is done, the Celtics themselves are already celebrating.

Obviously, Thomas is in a great mood on this, the grandest of Amereica’s holidays. If Hayward does indeed sign with Boston, it will surely narrow the gap between that team and Cleveland in the Eastern Conference.
It would also be a stark contrast to other stars heading from the east coast to the left coast.
