WATCH: 49ers and Seahawks players working out together

This never would have happened during the Jim Harbaugh era in San Francisco. In fact, any off-field interaction between the Seattle Seahawks and 49ers during that era would have likely led to punches being thrown.

But here they are. Two teams. Rivals within the same division. Players working out together.

As Jennifer Lee Chan from SB Nation’s Niners Nation notes, the facility that these players worked out in is partially owned by Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett, who was in attendance.

DeForest Buckner, Arik Armstead, Eli Harold and Ronald Blair of the 49ers joined the likes of Bennett and Earl Thomas, among others, at the facility in Hawaii.

Traditionalists will probably wonder aloud why rivals are hanging out with one another during the summer. Has the NFL gone soft?

But in a day and age when training camp itself isn’t enough for players to get in football shape, working out with one another has proven to be more than fruitful.

And if we’re being honest here, 49ers players could stand to learn something from the likes of Bennett and Thomas.
